Project Type: Construction Management at Risk
Project Owner: City of Glendale
Construction Dates: 7/11 to 9/11
While under contract installing a three-mile 102” RCP storm drain system with the Flood Control District of Maricopa County in partnership with the Cities of Glendale and Phoenix, the City of Glendale requested that we provide a Guaranteed Maximum Price for removing and replacing 1,300 LF of existing 12” Asbestos Cement waterline with Ductile Iron pipe. The replacement was located on 59th Avenue beginning at Camelback Road and running 1,300 LF to the North. As time was of the essence, the City of Glendale Engineering Department, Flood Control District, and our firm identified the scope of the project and the new alignment, utilizing quarter section maps, existing blue stake information, and pothole data. As the Ductile Iron pipe was being procured we relocated the existing utilities. Installation proceeded after agency approval and delivery of pipes, valves and fittings. In addition to the waterline the following were installed: 312 LF of 8” DIP, 11 valves (6”, 8” and 12”), 3 fire hydrants and 5 water services.
